JASPER, CANADA
Stretching across nearly 11,000 square kilometers, Jasper National Park offers more experiences than any single map could capture. Rather than documenting everything, the illustration distills the park into its defining places, landscapes, wildlife, and moments, creating an immediate visual introduction that feels both comprehensive and approachable.

Every landmark, activity, and callout was carefully curated to guide viewers through Jasper's most memorable destinations. Rather than overwhelming visitors with information, the illustration sparks curiosity, encouraging people to discover places they may have otherwise overlooked while preserving the excitement of exploring a national park.

From the Columbia Icefield to Athabasca Falls and the turquoise waters of Maligne Lake, some of Jasper's most recognizable destinations are brought together in a single sweeping view. Layered landscapes and small moments, like canoeists crossing the lake, help communicate the scale and diversity of the park.

At the northern edge of the illustration, hikers and bighorn sheep pause beneath the aurora borealis. As the world's largest accessible Dark Sky Preserve, Jasper's night skies are one of its defining experiences, with the glow of the northern lights subtly illuminating the landscape.

Jasper is a destination for every season. Marmot Basin's ski terrain, Mount Edith Cavell, the cabins of Jasper townsite, and a watchful elk come together to celebrate the landscapes and wildlife that make the park memorable year-round.

The illustration was built using Tourism Jasper's existing brand palette rather than introducing a new one. The park's recognizable turquoise lakes, cool mountain blues, evergreen forests, and muted earth tones were interpreted through the organization's established colors, allowing the illustration to feel like a seamless extension of their visual identity rather than a standalone piece of artwork.

The illustration now appears across Tourism Jasper's marketing materials, from printed visitor guides and editorial publications to trade shows, digital campaigns, and visitor information. Designed as a flexible visual asset rather than a single-use map, it continues to tell Jasper's story wherever prospective visitors first encounter the destination.

Emberhouse helped us bring our vision to life! Using a combination of facts, map and illustrated icons, they not only effectively told Jasper's story, they made it beautiful. We're excited to use the result in many of our communication products. Did I say we're really happy with the results?!!
